The Final Countdown
The closer it gets to the date of my departure, the faster good ‘ole
Grandfather Time seems to move. I feel like I’ve lived in Edinburgh for ages,
and am very anxious to return to my old life in Louisiana. I plan to infiltrate
pieces of my life here into my life back home and hope to never forget the
fulfillment I found in the time I spent and the choices I made. There is no way
I can choose a single event to be my most precious memory, but I do have
several epic stories and a list of must-do’s for anyone interested. Take
advantage of the Festival, and what it has to offer regarding the performing
arts. It’s a great opportunity to see a huge variety of talent and creativity.
Be sure to explore different parts of the town and adventure into the
wilderness of Arthurs Seat. We made an effort to try as many restaurants of
different ethnicities as possible when we were here, great scot what an idea!
And last but not least, do yourself a favor and experience the nightlife. Some
of my best memories were made with the most interesting people at the local
clubs and bars. I think a huge part of discovering a new culture is becoming
familiar with the type of people who live in it. This trip will have an impression
on the rest of my career and life, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for
anything. I can’t wait to come back!
